SMS API providers in Poland compared (2026): SMSAPI, SerwerSMS, Twilio and more

The Polish SMS API market is a mix of strong local players and global platforms that also cover Polish numbers. The real differences between them are rarely a fraction of a cent on the per-message rate – they lie in the billing model, the route a message takes to the carrier, and who each product was designed for. This comparison covers the providers most often shortlisted: SENDLY, SMSAPI, SerwerSMS, mProfi, Twilio, Vonage, Infobip and Bird (formerly MessageBird). Full disclosure up front: we are the team behind SENDLY, so wherever we judge, we state the criteria – and we present facts about the other providers in a way you can verify in their own pricing pages.

How we compare (and who is writing this)

This roundup was written by the SENDLY team – we say so openly so you can read it with the right amount of scepticism. Instead of a single "overall score", we compare providers on the criteria that actually drive cost and convenience:

  • Billing model – pay-as-you-go or bundles/subscription (usually a bigger cost difference than the headline rate; we did the maths in our SMS pricing guide).
  • Message route – a carrier with its own infrastructure or an aggregator reselling third-party routes.
  • API and documentation – REST, authentication, delivery webhooks, time to first SMS.
  • Billing and invoices – PLN or USD/EUR, VAT invoice, minimum top-ups.
  • Sender ID – whether a custom sender name is available and on what terms.
  • Integrations – ready-made plugins (e-commerce, PBX) and support for new scenarios such as AI agents.

Data as of July 2026. Competitor pricing changes and depends on bundles – always verify specific rates at the source.

SMS API providers in Poland – comparison table (2026)

ProviderTypeBilling modelCurrencyBest suited for
SENDLYCarrier (UKE register)Pay-as-you-go, from PLN 0.075, no subscription, 100 free SMSPLNBusinesses and developers in Poland: notifications, 2FA, bulk sending via API
SMSAPIGateway (aggregator)Pre-paid bundles, rate depends on bundle sizePLNSMS marketing with a rich campaign panel and integration ecosystem
SerwerSMSGateway (aggregator)Bundles / subscription, rate depends on volumePLNCompanies wanting a campaign panel and a long market track record
mProfiMobile platformBundles, offer agreed with salesPLNMobile campaigns (SMS marketing) run from a panel
TwilioGlobal aggregatorPay-as-you-go, higher rate for Polish numbers than local playersUSDDeveloper teams building globally, many countries at once
VonageGlobal aggregatorPay-as-you-goUSD/EURSimilar to Twilio: global API, good SDKs
InfobipGlobal CPaaS platformIndividual contracts, enterprise offernegotiatedLarge organisations, omnichannel (SMS, RCS, WhatsApp, e-mail)
Bird (MessageBird)Global CPaaS platformBundles/contacts, model has changed in recent yearsUSD/EUROmnichannel for companies operating across many markets

The takeaway: the choice is not about "who is cheapest" but about matching the model. Bundles pay off with high, steady volume; pay-as-you-go with irregular volume. USD billing makes sense when you send to many countries – for traffic mostly to Poland it adds currency conversion and a higher rate.

Polish providers: SENDLY, SMSAPI, SerwerSMS, mProfi

SENDLY (that is us) – a service registered in the UKE telecoms register: messages go straight from the carrier, with no chain of middlemen. One REST API with a Bearer token, delivery webhooks, bulk sending to 100 numbers per request, custom sender ID, a WooCommerce plugin and an MCP server for AI agents. Billing is pay-as-you-go only: from PLN 0.075 per SMS, no subscription, no activation fee, no minimum top-up, VAT invoice in PLN. You start with 100 free SMS and a transparent price list. A deliberate limitation: we focus on SMS – you will not find RCS or WhatsApp here.

SMSAPI – the largest and best-known Polish SMS gateway, on the market for almost two decades. Strengths: a mature campaign panel, a large catalogue of ready integrations, a recognised brand. Model: pre-paid bundles – the unit rate depends on bundle size, which rewards high, predictable volume. For companies that mainly want a marketing panel and treat the API as an add-on, it is a natural candidate.

SerwerSMS – the second veteran of the Polish market. Campaign panel, integrations, API documentation, bundle and subscription models. Its customer profile is similar to SMSAPI: marketing teams running regular campaigns. When comparing bundles, price your own realistic volume – the lowest advertised rates usually apply to the highest tiers.

mProfi – a Polish mobile communication platform focused on SMS campaigns run from a panel, with offers agreed with a salesperson more often than through self-service pricing. Chosen mainly by marketing teams; for API-first developer scenarios it is usually not the first pick.

Global players: Twilio, Vonage, Infobip, Bird

Twilio – the developer standard worldwide: excellent documentation, SDKs for everything, a huge ecosystem. The cost of that universality for sending to Poland: billing in USD (currency conversion, invoice from outside the EU), a higher per-SMS rate for Polish numbers than local players, and extra registration requirements for sender IDs. It makes sense when one codebase has to serve customers in many countries.

Vonage (formerly Nexmo) – a close counterpart of Twilio: global API, good SDKs, foreign-currency billing. The choice usually comes down to team preference and rates for your specific destinations.

Infobip – an enterprise-class platform with its own global infrastructure and full omnichannel (SMS, RCS, WhatsApp, e-mail, push). Pricing is individual, deployments often come with an account manager. A strong candidate for large multi-channel organisations; usually too heavy for a small company that just needs SMS over an API.

Bird (formerly MessageBird) – a global CPaaS that has been rebuilding its offer and pricing model towards an omnichannel platform in recent years. Like Infobip: strong in multi-channel and scale, less in simplicity of getting started with a single SMS use case.

2026 ranking by use case – which SMS API to choose

Rather than one "best overall" ranking, it is more honest to name winners per scenario:

  • Transactional notifications and 2FA codes in Poland – what matters is simple integration, a low flat price and fast delivery in Polish networks. The contest here is between SENDLY (carrier, pay-as-you-go, REST in minutes) and the local gateways; global aggregators lose on Polish rates and USD billing.
  • Bulk marketing campaigns from a panel – if the marketing team clicks campaigns together, SMSAPI and SerwerSMS are the natural candidates (mature panels). If your system generates the bulk traffic via API, compare bundle costs with pay-as-you-go – see our bulk SMS guide and the bulk SMS page.
  • Global scale, many countries – Twilio or Vonage; if you need omnichannel and enterprise support – Infobip or Bird.
  • WooCommerce store – the shortest path is a ready plugin instead of custom code; SENDLY has a WooCommerce integration with sign-up straight from the plugin.
  • Startup / developer with irregular volume – pay-as-you-go with no subscription, so a quiet month costs nothing: SENDLY in Poland, Twilio for a global audience.

Carrier vs aggregator – the difference that matters most

An aggregator buys routes from carriers (sometimes from other aggregators) and resells them – your message passes through a chain of intermediaries, each adding margin and a point of failure. A carrier in the UKE register sends directly into Polish networks: a shorter path, full control over delivery quality and the sender ID.

That does not make aggregators a bad choice – global aggregators exist precisely so one integration can cover a hundred countries. But if you send mostly to Poland, ask every provider directly: which route does my SMS physically take, and how many parties earn on it along the way?

How to test without risk

Every serious provider offers a trial – test credit or a pool of free messages. A sensible comparison plan: pick two or three candidates that match your model, send the same test messages via API to a few numbers in different networks (Orange, Play, Plus, T-Mobile), compare delivery times, DLR reports and integration convenience, then price your realistic volume – our pricing guide and calculator will help.

With SENDLY you start with 100 free SMS – no card, no contract, first API message within minutes of signing up.

FAQ

What is the best SMS API for businesses in Poland?+

There is no single answer – it depends on the use case. For notifications, 2FA codes and API-driven sending in Poland, local providers billing in PLN have the strongest case (SENDLY as a carrier with pay-as-you-go from PLN 0.075 and 100 free SMS). For panel-driven campaigns – SMSAPI or SerwerSMS. For sending to many countries with one codebase – Twilio or Vonage, and at enterprise scale Infobip.

Which SMS API provider is the cheapest?+

With irregular volume, usually the one without subscriptions and bundles – you pay only for messages actually sent (SENDLY from PLN 0.075/SMS). With very high, steady volume, aggregator bundles can beat that on unit rate. Always calculate the cost for your realistic monthly volume including subscriptions and add-ons, not the advertised "from" price.

What is the difference between a carrier and an SMS aggregator?+

A carrier (registered with UKE, the Polish telecoms regulator) sends messages directly into mobile networks. An aggregator resells routes bought from carriers or other aggregators – the SMS passes through intermediaries who each add margin. For domestic traffic, a shorter path usually means a lower price and more predictable delivery.

Which SMS API should I choose for notifications and 2FA codes?+

The key factors: fast, stable delivery in Polish networks, status webhooks, a custom sender ID and a model where a quiet month costs nothing. That is the profile of a pay-as-you-go carrier such as SENDLY; with a global user base, Twilio or Vonage are sensible alternatives.

Which SMS API for bulk business messaging?+

If your system generates the traffic, pick an API with group sending (SENDLY: up to 100 numbers per request) and compare pay-as-you-go with bundles. If marketing runs campaigns from a panel, look at SMSAPI and SerwerSMS. Remember GDPR consent for marketing messages.

How do I integrate an SMS API with a WooCommerce store?+

The easiest way is a ready plugin instead of custom code: the SENDLY plugin for WooCommerce sends order notifications and lets you create an account straight from the store panel. Alternatively, any provider with a REST API can be wired up via WooCommerce webhooks or Zapier.
